Great Western has a rich history of wine making in Australia, dating back to the 1860’s with Best’s Wines and Seppelt Wines. Now days Great Western is home to even more wineries and cellar doors with Grampians Estate and Miners Ridge. The Great Western Hotel stocks the largest wine list in the region including our sister wine label Black and Ginger Wines and other small local producers Kimbara, Fratin Brothers, The Story Wines and Clarnette and they’re all available by the glass.

Our property is 230 acres with a NASAA Certified Organic vineyard comprising a total of 30 acres, 50% Shiraz and 50% Merlot. Since 2016, We have worked hard to improve the quality of the Shiraz grapes which are now producing high quality fruit. Over the next few years we plan to remove some of the Merlot to plant different varieties to support our sister wine label Black & Ginger Wines.
